Lifeboat Palfinger from the company “SBS”

Palfinger Marine is one of the most well-known manufacturers of innovative deck equipment characterized by high reliability, quality and affordability. Constantly developing and expanding, the company opened offices and production sites in North and South America, as well as in Russia.

One of the projects that became widely known was the world's largest lifeboat - Palfinger Marine - designed specifically for the cruise industry. The dimensions of the boat with a capacity of 440 people are simply impressive - the length is 15.5 meters, and the width is 5.5 meters. Also worth noting is the extremely thoughtful and spacious interior, as well as a high level of comfort. In order for the project to receive permission for further release and sale, it is necessary to perform testing under conditions simulating an emergency.

Preferably, the tests were carried out for the time during which passengers should board the lifeboat in the event of an emergency. According to DNV GL estimates, the evacuation time should not exceed 10 minutes. The trial was attended by 200 employees of the company and 240 volunteers, whose age ranged from 18 to 88 years. During the experiment, everyone was in a tense state. However, at the very first test, people coped with the task in 5 minutes 21 seconds.
